INFORMAS in Germany is led by Peter von Philipsborn, Eva Rehfuess, Karin Geffert, Carmen Klinger, Johannes Donaubauer, Antje Hebestreit and Jan Stratil

The INFORMAS Public Sector module (Food EPI) has been implemented in Germany in 2019-2021 as part of the European Policy Evaluation Network (PEN, www.jpi-pen.eu) with funding from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). As part of a previous project, the INFORMAS Private sector module was applied as a case study to Germany’s largest food retailer, Lidl. As of May 2022, data collection underway for an analysis of the corporate political activity of the food industry in Germany.

  • Adaptation of the Public Sector Policies and Actions (Food-EPI) to the local (state) level: two-step approach including (1) adjustment and validation of the Food-EPI to the local German State (‘Bundesländer‘) context through key informant interviews and expert consultations and (2) use of the validated ‘German State Food-EPI’ to evaluate food and nutrition policies at the state level.
